Chris Reynolds

Chris Reynolds

Chris Reynolds was a highly intelligent man who existed in the inertia of perpetual flux, his mind flickering constantly from element to element, idea to idea, moment to moment. In seconds he'd shift between quoting Foucault and then Burroughs' "Naked Lunch" in seamless transition in order to not only make a point but occasionally to jolt the listener into possible mutual understanding. While many of his conversations explored the darkest depravities, Chris himself treated those around him with respect and kindness. I personally never saw him speak of an individual with mean intent or speak of doing hurtful things. He could be intensely frustrated but more so at himself, inwardly, than towards others.

As an artist his work is colorful and unique but as importantly, engaging and thought provoking. Often the subject matter are clearly from personal experience or an expression of the mind-numbing angst that plagued his spirit.
